Lesson 3 — Infrastructure & layout
Goal: Build a starter commercial propagation area that scales cleanly.
Starter commercial setup (minimum)
- Dedicated propagation bench area (easy to clean, good drainage)
- Mist line (with filtration) and a controller
- Shade control (shade cloth) and airflow (HAF fans)
- Bottom heat (strongly recommended for speed + uniformity)
- Sanitation station (tools + disinfectant + labeled bins)
Layout rules
- Separate propagation from production traffic if possible.
- No standing water. Ever. Design drainage first.
- Keep a clean workflow: dirty → clean → propagate → wean → harden.
- Plan space for 3 zones (A/B/C) even if you build them in stages.

Rule: It’s easier to prevent algae + Botrytis than to “spray your way out.” Build for cleanliness.
