Lesson 7 — Potting Area & Media Handling

Goal: build a potting system that is fast, clean, and easy on backs and time.

Potting area components

• Covered workspace (rain/wind protection)
• Media storage (dry, accessible)
• Pot storage (organized by size)
• Mixing station (if you blend media)
• Potting bench/line
• Water-in area (right after potting)

Layout concept

Media + pots (staging) → potting line → water-in → move to production block

Do this

1. Define your “standard potting recipe” and keep it consistent.
2. Standardize tools: scoops, dibbles, labels, stakes.
3. Plan for a pallet path if you scale (you will).
