Lesson 10 — Seasonal IPM Calendar (PNW)
Goal: anticipate problems rather than react.
Seasonal patterns (general)
- Spring: aphids, soft growth, leaf spots with rain
- Summer: mites, thrips, heat stress, irrigation issues
- Fall: Botrytis risk rises, crowding and wet nights
- Winter: root rot risk if media stays wet and cold
Do this
- Create a 1-page calendar with your top 5 crops and expected issues by month.
- Add your “prevention actions” (spacing change, airflow, sanitation push).
Rule: Your calendar becomes your preventative checklist.
