Lesson 5 — Cultural Controls (watering/spacing/air)
Goal: make the environment hostile to pests/diseases while staying optimal for growth.
High-impact cultural controls
- Water early to let foliage dry (avoid wet nights).
- Increase spacing when humidity rises in canopy.
- Keep air moving (fans / venting) in structures.
- Use clean water and avoid splash where possible.
Do this
- Write your “watering rules” (what triggers a skip day, what triggers longer run).
- Define spacing stages for 1g and 2g blocks.
