Lesson 7 — Deficiency/Toxicity Troubleshooting
Goal: diagnose correctly before you “throw fertilizer at it.”
Common patterns
- General yellowing + poor growth: low N or root issues
- Interveinal chlorosis (new leaves): iron/manganese availability (often pH)
- Burned leaf edges: salts / drought stress / EC too high
Process
- Check irrigation uniformity and drainage
- Measure media pH/EC
- Review recent changes (heat, spacing, water schedule)
- Then adjust nutrition
